Position: Marketing Head & Video Editor

About the role
We are looking for a creative and strategic Marketing Head & Video Editor to lead our marketing efforts and create compelling visual content for Barakeat. This role combines strategic marketing leadership with hands-on content creation to help us build brand awareness, engage our community, and drive user acquisition.
As part of a mission-driven startup fighting food waste, you'll have the opportunity to tell powerful stories about sustainability, community impact, and the restaurants we partner with.
Key responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns across social media, email, and digital channels
- Create content calendars and manage social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn)
- Plan and coordinate partnership marketing with restaurants
- Analyze campaign performance and optimize for user acquisition and engagement
- Build and nurture our community of users and restaurant partners
Video Production & Editing:
- Create engaging video content showcasing restaurants, food baskets, and user stories
- Edit promotional videos, social media reels, and short-form content
- Produce tutorials and explainer videos about how the platform works
- Film and edit testimonials from users and restaurant owners
- Create motion graphics and animations for marketing materials
Brand Development:
- Maintain consistent brand voice and visual identity across all channels
- Develop compelling messaging around sustainability and food waste reduction
- Create visual assets including graphics, thumbnails, and promotional materials
Required skills
Marketing Expertise:
- Proven experience in digital marketing and social media management
- Strong understanding of content marketing and community building
- Experience with marketing analytics and performance tracking
- Knowledge of SEO, email marketing, and digital advertising
Video Editing Skills:
- Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar)
- Experience with motion graphics (After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
- Understanding of video formats, compression, and optimization for different platforms
- Ability to film content using smartphones or cameras
Creative & Technical:
- Strong storytelling abilities and creative vision
- Eye for design and visual composition
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva, Photoshop, or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French
Nice to have
- Experience in the food industry or sustainability sector
- Knowledge of marketplace or platform business models
- Experience with influencer marketing and partnership management
- Understanding of Arabic language and MENA market dynamics
- Photography skills and experience with food photography
- Experience with paid advertising (Facebook Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads)
